Check it yourself in 30 seconds
- Open a private or incognito window where you are not logged in.
- Go to reddit.com/user/yourusername.
- If the profile loads normally, you are not sitewide shadowbanned.
- If it says the page was not found, or that the account is suspended, you are restricted.
Use the free checker
The OAISYS Reddit ban checker checks up to five usernames at once from public profile data and returns alive, suspended or shadowbanned for each one. No login needed.
Shadowban vs suspension vs subreddit ban
- Sitewide shadowban: your posts and comments are hidden from everyone else, and your profile looks missing to others. Usually automatic, triggered by spam filters.
- Suspension: Reddit tells you, and the profile shows as suspended.
- Subreddit ban: you are banned from one community only. Your profile is fine. You get a message from that subreddit's moderators.
- Removed comment: a single comment was removed by a moderator or AutoModerator. Check it while logged out.

Why Reddit shadowbans accounts
Posting the same link across many subreddits, brand new accounts posting links, many accounts from one IP address, vote manipulation, and ban evasion are the common triggers.
How to appeal
Submit an appeal at reddit.com/appeals while logged in. Be short and factual. If the account was new and flagged by a filter, appeals often work within a few days.
